Barry Wolfe Race Cancelled

The following inform was provided to the SCNCA by the race promoter:

Dear Racers – We regret to announce the cancellation of this year’s Barry Wolfe Grand Prix. Some of you may have been aware of the road construction that was started on our race course last month.  We have spent the last couple of weeks in contact with the city and the water district to determine how the construction would impact our course at the time of the race.  The safety of our racers is paramount, and to that end we have decided to cancel this year’s race as the probability of open trenches covered with steel plates and/or rough road patches on course are greater than the 50/50.

We want to thank those of you who pre-registered, we will refund you via USA Cycling registration.

Rest assured that we will be back racing the Barry Wolfe Grand Prix in 2018!

The SCNCA is in the process of hiring an Equipment Coordinator. This will be a paid position. The compensation will be $750 per quarter.

Applicants need to have some computer and camera skills as they will be responsible for the photo-finish equipment. Also need to have some aptitude working with radios and their programming.

Applicants also need a secure area to store the equipment when not in use.
Not a must, but it would be helpful to be centrally located.
Send resume to Chris Black, SCNCA Vice President;

1.  Store and maintain all SCNCA owned equipment (radios, photo-finish, lap cards, etc.)

2.  Work with promoters and Officials to get needed equipment to events
(and retrieve equipment after the events)

3.  Maintain all equipment in good working order

4.  Report equipment status to the SCNCA BoD at least quarterly
